'Plastic Nation' by Robyn Ward 21st March 2019
We are delighted to host an upcoming exhibition with Dublin born and Belfast bred artist, Robyn Ward.
Robyn is a self taught artist who created large scale graffiti works around Belfast as a teenager. He now has studios between London and Los Angeles, this will be his first Irish exhibition,

“Having never exhibited in my home town I am really excited to bring my latest body of work to Northern Ireland, aside from Mexico City where I am currently living and creating, Belfast will be the first city to host this new series. I left home at 18 and have been travelling and painting ever since, coming home to the streets that inspired me will be exhilarating.”

The purpose of this new series of work is to highlight the plight of the natural world around us and the damage being done to animals and their habitats, especially the ocean through single use plastic, pollution and our lifestyles. Robyn also aims to highlight the brands and organisations who contribute to these problems and demand they take responsibility for their contributions to the destruction of the Earth;

“Our world is beautiful and amazing and as humans we are damaging it potentially beyond repair, imagining a world without these incredible creatures is a tragic thought and while not one of us can independently save the world each of us can make small changes and play our part – I hope this series will inspire people to be more mindful of the damage we are doing and encourage them to make small changes.”

The show will run here in Belfast beginning Thurs 21st March for one week, before going on a worldwide tour. For more information on Robyn and his work visit his site below:
